In the name of Jesus: Welcomed, Loved, Sent
From the Parish Priest:
“Welcome to the website of St Bernadette’s Parish. Opened in 1968, the parish of St Bernadette predominantly serves the areas of Whitchurch, Hengrove and Stockwood. We are a welcoming, friendly parish, with a mix of old and young and lots of different nationalities making up our community. We belong to the Diocese of Clifton.
We are perhaps most well-known because of our “unusual” looking roof – a double, hyperbolic parabaloid – which represents a tent on the pilgrim route from Bristol to Glastonbury. We are now a Grade II Listed Building and are currently seeking funding in order to restore the church and its hall.
Our raison d’être as a parish is to proclaim the Gospel of Christ and to be a welcoming, friendly place, offering love and care to the whole of the local community.
Our vision is: “In the name of Jesus: Welcomed, Loved, Sent”
Hopefully through this website, and your engagement with the parish, you will see how we try to do this.”
