Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Our children are an important part of our Parish Family. The Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place each Sunday morning (in term time) except on the first Sunday of the month. The children are called forward at the start of Mass and sent out with the book of the Gospels to hear the Word of God read and proclaimed to them. Those leading the session engage the children in an acticity which enables them to understand what it is they have listened to and how the words of Jesus, especially, invite them to live a life as his disciple. At the end of the Liturgy of the Word, the children are processed into Church during the Offerotry procession. The first Sunday of the month finds the children remaining in the Church for Mass. The children take care of the welcoming and the presentation of the gifts. They also read and come forward for the homily. We are always looking for new folk to help lead the sessions. If you would like to find out more have a word with Fr Christopher or see one of the CLOW leaders on a Sunday morning.
