A Poem of Hope

Hope

Then it was always
evening, warm in the late sunshine.

Life was a love
affair,

Happenings were as
delicate

As the fluttering
of a butterfly’s wings,

As perfumed as a
rose petal.

We did not see the
grey cloud approaching,

Stealthily
lowering,

Descending, coming
closer,

The dark grey
advancing, growing darker.

And then it
happened wrapped itself around us, Enveloping in its blackness

But suddenly from
beyond the horizon

Came Hope,

Dispelling the
darkness,

Revising our
spirit.

And we are astonished
at the glory of the Dawn
